A couple of years ago we had the opportunity to attend a Colloquium on Latin American Literature in Budapest (Hungary). That episode opened a surprising panorama for the development of literary studies in the Spanish language in Central and Eastern Europe. In this opportunity we were able to witness and corroborate that the circulation of ideas, aesthetics, fashion is linked to many factors, among which are intellectual encounters as well as, mainly, translation policies. Having met Ilinca Ilian from the Universidad de Oeste de Timişoara is an important part of the dossier that we present, by which we agreed to prepare a set of works from various countries in the area to account for the translation, reception and significance of Latin American literature. Miguel de Unamuno, who was accustomed to making definite judgments, said that Europe was France and Germany and that the rest was something else. This is not the place to discuss such an interesting precept, but let us say that there are studies that have compared the cultural situation of Latin America with "peripheral Europe". It is then a dossier that will keep a special importance for our editorial work, since with the publication of these texts we are part of the diffusion of the researches on Latin American Literature realized in the space of the Central and Eastern Europe. With which to the circulation artifacts mentioned above we must add the relevance of the journals to allow knowledge to cross borders.
