Through the theoretical-methodological framework of the History of Latin American Ideas, proposed by Arturo Roig, this article aims to make an analysis of three forms of symbolic production, which are part of the same discursive universe during the military dictatorship in Brazil ( 1964 - 1985): The Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1968), by educator Paulo Freire; the cinematografic movement called Cinema Novo and its manifest Eztetyka da Fome, by Glauber Rocha; and the manifest Tropicália or Panis et circensis (1968) of the artistic movement called Trópicalia, especially headed by Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. We understand that these case studies were the opposity against the dominant discourse at that moment and in their respective areas, they share the dichotomous relationship between the categories liberation and dependence, an important problem in Our America. Seeking to understand how temporality and historicity play in these ideas, we also consider them in the sense of defending artistic productions as historical documents that provide us elements to understand the subjectivities of a certain place in a given time.
}, journal={Algarrobo-MEL}, author={Luz, Ana Carolina and Vieira de Moraes, Gustavo and Fonseca Pinheiro dos Santos, Manuela}, year={2018}, month={oct.}, pages={1–19} }
