Comparatism and Postcolonialism: Complementary Perspectives for the Study of Senegalese Writer Ken Bugul
Keywords:
Comparative Literature, Postcolonial Studies, Francophony, Narrative, Ken BugulAbstract
Based on the considerations of French professor Jean-Marc Moura about the possibility of approaching the study of the so-called Francophone literature from comparative and postcolonial theories as partly concurring perspectives, we propose to account for the writings of Senegalese Ken Bugul as a hybrid product between two worlds, the result -conflictive for the author- of the linguistic and cultural exchange between her native land and the colonizing European West.
