Abstract

The neologism sexting designates the increasingly widespread and naturalized practice of producing and then sharing personal sexual photographs using smartphones. This article analyzes, through the testimonies of young women from Mendoza, the role of social media and pornography not only as sources of inspiration for the creation of sexual images but also as regulatory spaces and discourses. In these spaces, young women learn what to show and how to show it in order to produce a successful image of their body and sexuality.
