Abstract

In this paper we address, from the perspective of social theory, the recent socio-environmental manifestations that were formed by the presence of fire in islands of Paraná River in 2020. On this situation, we are interested in focusing on: the experience of social environmentalism (Gutiérrez y Usuani, 2014) that was configured based on the fire in the islands, in its relationship with the State and in the political and social characteristics of its articulation. We will carry out such analyses around the event "fire on the islands" of the Paraná River (year 2020-2021), making use of the notions of multitude (Spinoza 1986; Virno, 2013) and the ‘common’ (Hardt and Mezzadra, 2013).
