Abstract

The purpose of this work is to problematize the notion of region as a spatiality in which the processes of construction and circulation of knowledge in Science and Technology take place in Latin America. For this, the ontologies of space underlying two fields that address the subject are analyzed: Science, Technology and Society studies (which consider space as a context) and Socio-spatial studies (which consider it as a condition of possibility). As a result of the analysis, the relations of solidarity between the ontological and epistemological assumptions that underlie critical reflections of a geopolitical nature are made visible.
