Abstract

Theoretical sieges to the so-called writings of the self have been the subject of reflection in different academic forums. Perhaps the vindication of the figure of the author was one of the reasons that emphasized the revaluation of memoirs, autobiographies and diaries. The communicating vessels between life and work are evident in the artistic configuration of these referential works. Memories have historical events as their narrative axis and relate the individual to socio-political circumstances. The location of the person during a certain historical moment of his town becomes a matter of narration; The particular implications are then described within a crucial moment for the world. The autobiography is preceded by a situation of self-examination in which the level of introspection is necessary to articulate the sum of selves that have made the present self possible. So the result of who you are today has been part of a unique journey. The diary takes us to the subject being made on a daily basis. There is in it an effect of plunging into the interiority of its author. All the writings of the self are born of an expressive need and have their counterpart in readers who have been awakened by the desire to better know the writer hidden in narrative fictions or poetic experiences. There is, therefore, a will to tell oneself about life and to find the revealing private story of one who through his literary work has become a public figure.
