The concept of ‘system’, central in philosophy especially since Brucker, had a special impulse with Leibniz, who conceived it as a set of postulates organized according to taxonomic principles that followed the model of calculus. In Leibniz’s system, God played a central role by being the being that made possible to understand the world and build the human knowledge. This paper aims to show, through a broad overview, what is meant by the Leibnizian system, how such a system is configured and why it is proper to refer to Leibniz as a systematic philosopher.
