Trust and Fear in Aristotle
Keywords:
Aristotle, trust, fear, courageAbstract
In this article I propose to approach fear and trust as both opposite passions, especially from Nichomachean Ethics, III, 6-9, and opposite and complementary to the effect of persuading in Rhetoric, II, 5. In relation to the analysis of this second aspect, certain fundamental passages of the Poetics are also considered to illuminate the reflection around the aforementioned passions.
