The purpose of this article is to identify the most relevant features of the proposal of the fields of meaning, as well as to point out some of the possible paradoxes it contains. To this end, we begin by introducing the proposal in the broad framework of speculative realism; then, we point out the most relevant ideas of the fields of meaning, especially their ascription to ontological and epistemological realism; finally, we suggest some paradoxes included in this proposal. As an original perspective, sense fields are considered as a contribution to the epistemological foundation of the human sciences.
