“Artificial Intelligence”. Ontology and Ethics

Artificial Intelligence, instrumentality, Aristotle, Hans Jonas, Luc FerryAbstract
In the present article I will present two aspects of the so far called Artificial Intelligence. The first of them is ontological; I will try to characterize what it is and for this purpose I will use some distinctions proposed by Aristotle to distinguish a natural entity from an artificial one. The second aspect is ethical. In this sense, and without renouncing Aristotle, I take up some contemporary proposals, taking as a starting point Luc Ferry's criticisms of Hans Jonas, especially with regard to the "heuristics of fear".
