This article presents Spaemann's view on appearance and reality in Meditations of a Christian, where he addresses this theme using the categories of the true world and the inverted world. We follow the outline (1) the normal state of the world is characterized by its separation from its origin; (2) the world is divided into oppressors and the poor; (3) the poor have the opportunity to return to the truth, and consequently, humanity is divided between the righteous and the wicked; (4) this disjunction constitutes the true world and the inverted world; finally, (5) a conclusion on the topic is included.
