About the Journal

Focus and scope
Revista de Ingeniería y Ciencias Aplicadas (RevICAp) of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo is a semi-annual periodic publication. The objective is to disseminate scientific and technological knowledge through articles of this nature that are the product of research, which will be subjected to an evaluation by qualified academic peers in the field. It will be aimed at the university audience, as well as the general scientific community. The journal's areas of concern are Food Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petrochemicals, Mineralurgy and Mechanics, Environmental Technologies, and Science and Engineering Education. The final decision on the incumbency of a submitted article will be in charge of the Editorial Board.

 

Peer review process
Each work will be submitted for reference: specialists (at least two), with recognized trajectory both nationally and internationally, will receive said work and the corresponding evaluation form. Its function will consist of critically reviewing the material presented and ruling on its publication. The author may suggest some evaluators, who could be considered by the Editor in the evaluation process. The origin of the evaluators is the scientific committee of the journal, external to the Editorial Committee, of national and international origin and the evaluation system is "double blind". The relevance of the original is decided by the Editorial Committee while its acceptance or rejection depends on the opinion of the evaluators. Likewise, the Editor will return to the authors, without going through the arbitration process, those works that do not comply with the presentation rules of the Journal.
The manuscript will be submitted in electronic format as a Word file, through OJS. All communications with the authors (review and acceptance of articles) will be made by email.
The papers presented for publication will be subjected to a first internal evaluation of concern, general quality and category by the Editorial Board and later to an external evaluation of relevance and scientific quality by members of the Review Committee. The Review Committee is made up of renowned specialists in the issues of concern of the journal.
The general evaluation process consists of an exhaustive critical review of the contents and structure of the article, the recommendation, or not, of its publication and eventual corrections.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the work for not adjusting to the areas involved, not complying with the established norms or not possessing the required scientific quality. It also reserves the right to make minor editing modifications for a better final presentation of the work.

 

Open access policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Revista de la Facultad de Ciencias Aplicadas a la Industria (RevICAp) is Diamond OA (also called Platinum OA), so both publication and access to scientific articles is completely free.
