Abstract

Mercedes Giuffré is a writer of the detective genre set in the colonial viceroyalty. The series stars Samuel Redhead, a surgeon trained in the London of the Hunter brothers, who becomes a detective when he must perform a series of autopsies, suspected of murder. Blood Debt (2008); The Weight of Truth (2010); The Chariot of Death (2011); Souls in Sorrow (2017); The Assault (2023). In these novels, the author uses the classic detective technique in the historical framework of the decline of the Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata, between 1805 and 1809.
