Abstract

Analytic philosophy of religion seeks to clarify debates and foster dialogue with the empirical sciences. This article examines attempts to engage with contemporary cosmology on the question of creation, highlighting how some authors have reformulated thomistic theory to facilitate this interaction. However, we argue that Thomas Aquinas’ metaphysics, in its classical structure, provides robust philosophical resources for this dialogue without requiring substantial reformulations. Far from being an obstacle, the Thomistic framework offers conceptual tools that can enrich the conversation with science while maintaining its original philosophical coherence.
