Abstract

Ariadna Castellarnau (Lleida, 1979) won the Las Américas Prize with Quema (Gog & Magog, 2015), a book of dystopian stories that share the same post-apocalyptic world. She then published La oscuridad es un lugar (Destino, 2020 and Emecé, 2022), where horror, dark fantasy, family relationships (an obsession of the author) and the protagonism of some spaces reminiscent of Argentina are knotted. This conversation took place via streaming platform and was a didactic experience carried out at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National University of Cuyo, organized by the chair of Spanish Literature III and led by the students, who engaged in a real dialogue with the author after that kind of imaginary dialogue that reading implies. During the conversation, topics related to creative processes and literary reading processes emerged, emanating from concrete experiences of the writer and a group of readers.
