Abstract

This conversation with Guillermo Folguera, framed within the Critical Environmental Studies project, inquires into environmental issues from the intersection between academia(s) and territory(ies). The conversation elaborates on the relationship between science and power, the clash of worldviews, the role of care, the ambivalences of humanism. Through a reflection situated and rooted in his experience accompanying the political struggles of communities, Folguera suggests fruitful and problematic relationships, limits and opportunities, certainties and uncertainties. The whole is a philosophical contribution on the mutually constitutive links between the basic concepts with which we read and intervene in contemporary environmental issues, and the forms of intervention and experience that shape, and sometimes lead to transform, our basic concepts.
