Peer review process

The works sent to Proyección, whether they are free articles, dossier articles or book reviews, are, first of all, subject to review by the Editorial Committee in charge of evaluating the following aspects:

  • Thematic relevance based on the journal's lines.
  • Compliance with publication standards.
  • Structure, originality and quality of the work.

If in this first step it is identified that the work does not meet any of the requirements, it will be returned to the author(s) for review.

Manuscripts that, in the opinion of the Editorial Committee, meet the requirements demanded by the journal, will be subject to the double-blind peer review system.

To this end, through the initial review, it is ensured that the documents do not contain any mark that allows their author to be identified.

The selection of evaluators, national and international, is based on their academic-professional training and their knowledge of the subject addressed in the work.

The review process consists of completing an evaluation grid where three possibilities are admitted:

  • Publishable
  • Publishable with modifications
  • Not publishable

The evaluators can send the author(s) recommendations, comments and/or clarifications about the work.

When both evaluators issue their opinion as "publishable" or "publishable with modifications", the work enters the publication process, and the author(s) are sent to adapt the manuscript, the observations issued if there are any. For this, they are given a period of 15 days.

The Editorial Committee is then responsible for carefully reviewing that the suggestions made by the reviewers are incorporated.

If the evaluators' opinions differ, the work is submitted to the consideration of a third reviewer, in order to make the corresponding editorial decision.

The usual period established for the evaluators is 15 days. In cases of controversy in which the article must be submitted to a third referee, the review process is extended by 15 more days. From the time the article is submitted, the estimated time of the evaluation process is at least 2 weeks and at most 12 weeks.

The receipt of the work does not imply the obligation to accept it or any commitment regarding its publication.
