Reviewers Guidelines

Remember that the manuscripts submitted to Revista FCA are peer-reviewed through a double-blind peer review process. The identities of ‘Reviewers' and Authors’ are kept hidden from each other.

Revista FCA publishes original articles in English in the fields of agricultural sciences, food science, and renewable natural resources. It publishes research in the form of research papers, scientific notes, and review articles.

Revista FCA publishes the following types of contributions:

  • Research Papers: Original theoretical, experimental, or field-based studies that make a significant contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
  • Scientific Notes: Short communications reporting results that require rapid dissemination, including preliminary findings, descriptions of new species or cultivars, reports of pests or diseases, and methodological improvements or adjustments.
  • Review Articles: Invited contributions written by leading specialists in fields covered by the journal and commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief.

As it is stated in the journal ‘Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy’, only human beings can fulfil the role of reviewing articles for this journal. AI cannot replace the responsibilities and accountability of this role.

Of note, given that generative AI tools may violate authors’ confidentiality, the manuscript or any part of it must not be upload into AI tools. Generative AI tools must not be used to assist in the review, evaluation or decision-making process of a manuscript.

Reviewers are allowed to use generative AI tools only to improve the readability or to organize the structure of their reviewer report.

 

1. How to start

First, download all the files from the platform.

In case of initial submission: manuscript file and supplementary material.

In case of revisions: revised manuscript, manuscript and response letter.

 

2. Writing your report

Complete the reviewer report in the platform. Bear in mind that the reviewer report must be written in English and will be submitted to author(s). Please state and write your suggestions/corrections in a constructive and professional way.

 

3. Submitting your report

Submit your report. In addition, confidential feedback can be submitted to the Associate Editors through the platform. This feedback will not be share with the authors.
