Este texto presenta, analiza y discute un caso específico de composición creativa en griego antiguo realizada por un joven poeta y filólogo contemporáneo desconocido desde una de las periferias latinoamericanas del clasicismo. A partir del estudio de este caso, se proponen una serie de reflexiones acerca de la crisis actual de la disciplina de los estudios clásicos y se sugieren algunos conceptos operativos que permiten situar el significado y los objetivos de este proyecto y abrir una discusión sobre el papel de los clásicos en Latinoamérica.
