Abstract

This article examines a specific case of creative composition in Ancient Greek produced from one of the Latin American peripheries of classicism by a young contemporary poet and philologist who is virtually unknown. Drawing on this case study, it reflects on the current crisis in Classical Studies, proposes a set of operative concepts for situating the meaning and aims of this project, and opens a broader discussion on the role of the classics in Latin America.
