Abstract

This note studies two Argentinian reelaborations of Blood Wedding. The first one has got the extra value of being the first filmic adaptation of any Lorca’s dramatic work, made only two years after his violent death, and with Margarita Xirgu on the screen. The second one is a theatrical version made by the playwright and actor Juan Carlos Gené mixing Lorca’s fiction with his own memories, and staged in the CELCIT of Buenos Aires during 2010 and 2011.
