An interview with Colectivo Write like a Girl about their novel called Y yo que me creía tan libre

Abstract

The collective Write like a Girl emerged in 2016 in Mendoza, aiming to gather and bring visibility to female voices in the literature from Mendoza. The collective has published two books: a lyrical work called Antología Write like a girl! in 2017, and the novel Y yo que me creía tan libre, which was released in 2020 by the publishing house Vuelo de Quimera Editoras. The novel is a fragmented, polyphonic, and miscellaneous narrative work that seeks to demonstrate why women are not free in society. In this interview, colectivo Write like a Girl is asked about their feminist stance, followed by inquiries about the writing, reception, style, and literary genre of the novel. Finally, the authors are questioned about specific sections of the novel.
