Comer de forma saudável na era digital
Explorações com grupos focais de classe média em Buenos Aires

Analisamos como um grupo de adultos de classe média da cidade de Buenos Aires, em sua maioria mulheres, usa a mídia digital em suas práticas alimentares. Usando dados de seis grupos focais que realizamos em 2023 e 2024, analisamos a que conteúdo alimentar eles prestam atenção, o grau de credibilidade que consideram ter as diferentes fontes e consultores e, de modo mais geral, quais aspectos consideram positivos e negativos do conteúdo sobre alimentação e saúde no ambiente digital. Relacionamos os debates sobre os usos da mídia digital na alimentação com estudos sociológicos sobre redes interpessoais na saúde. Esse é um novo tópico, pouco explorado nos estudos mais recentes que se concentraram nos laços sociais e nas comunidades ligadas à saúde que se formam no ambiente digital. Os resultados mostram que as plataformas digitais são ferramentas úteis para a educação e a conscientização sobre alimentação saudável, mas que também geram desinformação e amplificam ansiedades e pânicos alimentares, levando a estratégias de “desintoxicação digital”. Mostramos a influência das redes sociais digitais no contexto mais amplo das redes interpessoais off-line na saúde e sua contribuição para o consumo crítico de conteúdo.
