Peer evaluation process
Melibea submits all papers deemed relevant to the Journal's objectives to a double-blind, anonymous peer review system. A prior review ensures that the papers do not contain any identifying marks.
After this initial stage, the papers are sent to two external reviewers, selected by the editors from the Review Committee's list. In the case of very specific topics, the Editorial Committee selects demonstrably competent reviewers to conduct the review.
In cases where divergent opinions arise, the publication of the paper may be decided by the journal's editor or by sending the research to a third reviewer. Reviewers are internally evaluated by this Journal on the quality of their review and timeliness, in order to ensure the best possible team at this important stage of the editorial process. The peer review process is anonymous and international. The author will be notified of acceptance of the article for publication—with or without modifications—or, failing that, rejection, within a period of no more than three months.
Melibea reserves the right to reject papers that do not comply with the "publication standards" and to include them in the issue it deems most appropriate.
The authors are fully responsible for the content and opinions expressed in their research, which may or may not coincide with those of the Journal.
