A Study on the Variability of the Urban Heat Island in Córdoba, Argentina

Dado el contexto del cambio climático, es imperativo realizar investigaciones sistemáticas sobre la relación entre la Isla de Calor Urbano (ICU) y los factores meteorológicos. En este estudio se analizaron los datos horarios de dos estaciones meteorológicas de la ciudad de Córdoba entre enero de 2018 y diciembre de 2022. Los resultados confirman la presencia de un efecto ICU nocturno, que ocurre pocas horas después del atardecer, con una intensidad de 3,5 a 4 °C en todas las estaciones, y que puede superar los 6 °C en la estación seca. También se detectó el efecto de Isla Fría Urbana diurna, con intensidades que oscilan entre -0,3 y -0,7 °C. La lluvia y el viento desempeñan un papel importante en la mitigación del efecto ICU en la ciudad. Los resultados de este estudio ayudarán a la ciudad de Córdoba a prepararse para el aumento de la demanda energética durante el verano, así como establecer refugios térmicos para períodos de olas de calor o de temperaturas extremas.
