The problem of scales is naturally and directly connected to certain current discussions in the philosophy of technology and, at the same time, to other political, ontological, epistemological, and methodological problems. In this paper, we attempt to briefly map three dimensions of the problem of scales: methodological/epistemological, ontological, and political. Finally, we offer some reflections on the implications of this approach to scales for philosophical anthropology.
