Between Reflection and Admiration: A Review of my Readings of Ernesto Sábato

In this article, written especially for the occasion, I revisit some of the main themes I have explored in the work of one of the greatest Argentine writers of the 20th century: Ernesto Sábato. More than four decades of reading and researching these books allow me to revisit some interpretations of the author's work from a comparative perspective. Thus, the article is structured around the influence of surrealism, Sabato's topology, the myth of Orpheus, the relationship between literature and painting, and religious themes in the works of the great Argentine writer. In this way, we can ponder the complexity and depth of Ernesto Sábato's narrative and essay works and assess their importance and their potential for interpretation from a comparative perspective.
