Abstract

It has been more than 25 years since the adventures of Harry Potter came into our lives. There are many studies that over time have focussed on the saga of the British writer, some from literature, others from psychology, law or art history. Furthermore, in recent times we have witnessed a revitalization of the fantasy genre, especially those stories starring by wizards, witches and supernatural or fantastic beings. Such is the case of the «Empyrean saga» by Rebecca Yarros or the new adaptation of «Percy Jackson and the Olympus of the Gods», on Disney+. But have you ever wondered why these stories so attractive? Although apparently, they were conceived for children, the truth is that more and more adults are attracted to them. Our study aims to delve into those mythical female figures that have shaped, layer by layer, the character of wicked witch Bellatrix Lestrange; and on the other hand, how Western cinema and cultural tradition have established and developed an iconographic base related to those characters identifiable by all of us.
